Philip Kessler

A Tempo this Saturday (8/12 at 7 pm) features an interview with composer and musician, Louis Josephson, who grew up in West Windsor, NJ. His new work, 'Relapse: A New Musical,' will open next month Off-Broadway.

Among the shows that will be premiering Off-Broadway this Fall is "Relapse: A New Musical," with music by Louis Josephson and lyrics and book by J. Giachetti. The musical opens for a limited run September 2 and continues through September 23 at New York's Theatre Row. Its storyline revolves around the patients in a group-therapy session, bringing the audience inside the emotional, social and psychological world of the group and following the participants’ transformations and search for help and recovery.

Josephson grew up in West Windsor, NJ, attending school in the West Windsor-Plainsboro district and studying at Juilliard’s pre-college program. He is currently pursuing his composition degree at Juilliard and expects to graduate in December. A Tempo host Rachel Katz this week chats with Josephson about the upcoming opening and his interest in composition.

Rachel Katz is the host of A Tempo which airs Saturdays at 7 pm.
