The Minnesota Orchestra is one of the latest ensembles to explore the connections between music and wellness with its audiences, and A Tempo this Saturday (3/23 at 7 pm) takes a look at its “Music and Healing” initiative.

A Tempo host Rachel Katz this week speaks with Sarah Hicks, Minnesota Orchestra’s Principal Conductor of Live at Orchestra Hall, about its “Music and Healing” initiative. The program kicked off with a concert last summer featuring on-stage conversations with musicians, scientists and wellness experts about this relationship, and performances of newly commissioned works related to the topic. A seven-episode series of videos, including excerpts from the concert and additional interviews, was released online last month.
