Flutist and composer Allison Loggins-Hull and the string quartet ETHEL have just launched a tour showcasing one of their latest collaborations, which will include an album release later this year of commissioned works. One of Loggins-Hull's own compositions in on the album - called Persist, the work seeks to capture the experiences of African-Americans during the great migration. Currently a Composer Fellow with the Cleveland Orchestra, she will also be taking on the role of Resident Artistic Partner with the New Jersey Symphony. I’ll chat with her about the album, her collaboration with ETHEL, and some of her plans for working with the New Jersey Symphony.
