Choreographer Omar Román de Jesús had been creating works for a variety of dance companies when he decided it was time to bring together his own group of dancers. He founded BOCA TUYA in 2018 as an artistic incubator for contemporary dance artists. The company is currently in residence at 92Y, and this month will present its first full-length solo performance featuring three of his works Nov. 14 and 15 at the 92Y Harkness Dance Center. A Tempo host Rachel Katz speaks with de Jesús about creating and nurturing the company and his own artistry.
