Diversity and Humor Find Place in Holiday Performances

A Tempo this Saturday (12/7) spotlights a neurodiverse production of A Christmas Carol and a quirky, cross-genre version of The Nutcracker, more examples of various takes on traditional holiday favorites.

A Tempo host Rachel Katz looks at two creative takes on traditional holiday performances. EPIC Theatre Players, a neuro-inclusive theatre group, is staging a re-imagination of Dickens's A Christmas Carol at Theatre Row, and she chats with Artistic Director Travis Burbee and Director of Program Operations Talia Eapen about bringing the elements together. She also checks in with choreographer David Parker, whose humorous and perhaps irreverent Nut/cracked production encompasses the gamut of musical and dance styles, from ballet and tap to jazz and disco, and will be performed by The Bang Group at 92NY.

Rachel Katz is the host of A Tempo which airs Saturdays at 7 pm.
