A Tempo this Saturday (4/26) looks ahead to the world premiere of an opera about the experiences of Hazel Ying Lee, a Chinese-American pilot who served during the Second World War.

Hazel Ying Lee was one of two Chinese-American women to serve in the Women Airforce Service Pilots during World War II. Her story will be told on the opera stage next month, when Opera Delaware presents the world premiere of Fearless by composer Derrick Wang. The company is also planning several events around the community to expand on her story, including a panel discussion at the Air Mobility Command Museum in Dover, DE. A Tempo host Rachel Katz will speak with Wang, Opera Delaware General Director Brendan Cooke, and the opera company's Vice President of Engagement Kerriann Otaño about the the opera, Lee's story, and some of the preview events.
