The work of mathematician and computer pioneer Alan Turing helped decipher key German codes during World War II, helping the Allies secure victory. However, his arrest several years after the war on charges of homosexuality, then illegal in Britain, cut short his work, and possibly his life. Princeton Pro Musica brings elements of his story to life May 18 with its performance of the oratorio Codebreaker: The Alan Turing Story, composed by James McCarthy. A Tempo host Rachel Katz chats with Artistic Director Ryan James Brandau and Marketing Manager Kenny Litvack about the piece and some of the other events it is hosting to provide more context on Turing and his life.
