Princeton Concert Takes Note of Local Food Need with Benefit Performance

Violinist and Princeton University faculty member Anna Lim

A Tempo Saturday (9/6) features an upcoming concert organized by violinist Princeton University faculty member Anna Lim that will bring the Music for Food program to the region.

Music for Food, founded by violist Kim Kashkashian, has helped musicians organize benefit concerts to support local food pantries since 2010. Later this month, a concert in Princeton on Sept. 26 will join in this effort. The concert at Nassau Presbyterian Church is being organized by violinist and Princeton University Faculty member Anna Lim, who is also a member of the Manhattan Chamber Ensemble. Proceeds will benefit Arm in Arm, the food pantry operated by the church, and Lim hopes this is just the first in a series of concerts as she looks to create a local chapter of Music for Food. Host Rachel Katz chats with Kashkashian and Lim about these concerts and the difference support like this can make for those in need.
