In this two-part episode, A Tempo host Rachel Katz chats with the four composers who attended the Edward T. Cone Composition Institute held annually on the campus of Princeton University. The composers spend a week rehearsing a piece with the New Jersey Symphony and revising it after receiving feedback from orchestra members, institute Director Steven Mackey, and this year’s conductor, Eric Jacobson. Part 1 features the first part of the conversation with the composers - Apollonio Maiello, T. (Ty) Gregory Bloomfield, Max Vinetz and Gillian Rae Perry; Part 2 wraps up that conversation and includes an interview with Mackey and Jacobson.
