As the new school year gets underway at Mason Gross School of the Arts of Rutgers University, A Tempo host Rachel Katz met up with its new dean, Dr. Michael Kim, at his office on campus. Kim trained as a concert pianist, and as an administrator he has explored programs that prepare students for careers that meet the changing needs and directions of today’s arts world. They discussed some of these new directions and how how arts and music students can bring their skills and entrepreneurship into expanding fields of opportunities, such as health wellness and community engagement.
