Remembering Glenn Gould
Glenn Gould would have turned 90 on September 25th 2022, while October 4th marks the fortieth anniversary of his tragically early death at the age of 50.
The legendary pianist's celebrated 1981 remake of his signature piece, Bach's Goldberg Variations was first released shortly before Gould's untimely passing, and became a best seller. Sony/BMG has now brought out a box set containing the complete 1981 Goldberg recording sessions, allowing listeners to eavesdrop on Gould's recreative process at unprecedented close range.
Joining The Classical Network's Artist in-Residence and host Jed Distler will be composer Richard Einhorn, who produced several of the sessions, and will share his unique recollections and perspectives about working with Gould.
You won't want to miss this special edition of Between the Keys celebrating Glenn Gould's legacy, this Tuesday night October 4th at 10, with a rebroadcast Wednesday October 5th at noon, only on The Classical Network and WWFM.org
