Dare to Discover

The first half of this episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys features acclaimed cellist Juliana Soltis as my special guest. We preview our upcoming recital this Saturday March 11th at 6:00 PM at Bargemusic, that features works by American composers Amy Beach, Margaret Bonds, Leo Ornstein and the unjustly obscure Helen C. Crane. Ticket information can be found online by visiting bargemusic.org.

The second half offers selections from the newest release in pianist Sarah Cahill's groundbreaking CD series The Future is Female, plus music by the all-but-unknown British composer Freda Swain (1902-1985).

Dare to discover obscure yet worthy women composers by tuning in to Between the Keys this Tuesday night at 10, with a rebroadcast Wednesday at noon, exclusively on The Classical Network and WWFM.org.

Enjoy the music, and happy listening!
Jed
