This week's episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys is entirely devoted to short (or short-ish) piano pieces inspired by dance.
"We've got it all," says Jed Distler, The Classical Network's Artist-in-Residence and the creator, producer and host of Between the Keys. Up and down tempo works, waltzes, an allemande, a Krakowiak, Hungarian Dances, and so forth."
Composers include Beethoven, Szymanowski, Debussy, Liszt, Schumann, Bartok, Ibert, Brazhms/Cziffra, Louis Couperin, Leo Ornstein, Artur Schnabel, Moira Lo Bianco, Grieg, Amy Beach, Schubert, Chopin and Liapunov.
Tune in Tuesday night at 10, with a rebroadcast Wednesday at noon, exclusively on The Classical Network and WWFM.org
