The great French pianist and pedagogue Yvonne Loriod (1924-2010) would have turned 100 on January 20th. Although best known as her husband Olivier Messiaen's principal interpreter and muse, Loriod commanded a wide range of repertoire. This week’s episode of ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys explores the breadth of Loriod's recorded legacy in works of Mozart, Schumann, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy, Ravel and, of course, Messiaen.
Tune in Friday afternoon at 3, with the rebroadcast Saturday evening at 6, exclusively on The Classical Network and WWFM.org
