Back in 2007 it was revealed that all of the many piano recordings issued on the Concert Artist label credited to Joyce Hatto had actually been stolen from other pianist’s recordings.
The Classical Network's Artist-in-Residence Jed Distler played a major role in exposing this scandal. On this week's episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys, Distler presents recordings “appropriated” for release under Joyce Hatto’s name, featuring pianists Alberto Reyes, Ian Hobson, Jean-François Heisser, Izumi Tateno, Andrei Nikolsky, Arthur Moreira Lima, Adam Skoumal, Lilya Zilbertstein and Michele Campanella.
