On this week's episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys, Jed Distler will present four distinctive sets of piano variations.
The program begins with Mozart's Variations on Mio Caro Ondone, played by Walter Klien. Next is a Chaconne based on Scarlatti's Sonata in D Minor K. 32, composed Walter Gieseking, who primarily was known as a pianist. It will be performed by Joseph Moog. This is followed by American composer Joseph Fennimore's Variations on a Theme of Beethoven, with Juana Zayas at the piano. And lastly, Logan Skelton plays his own imaginative and eclectic Civil War Variations.
