Here's another episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys on which The Classical Network's Artist-in-Residence Jed Distler features different pianists in a particular cycle of piano pieces.
"For the eight pieces encompassing Brahms' Klavierstücke Op. 76, we'll here each one played by a different pianist, and without repeating a pianist," says Jed. "And in one case we'll hear two distinctive interpretations. So that's nine pianists, actually."
Although Jed won't say who is playing what piece, he's allowed us to mention all nine pianists together in a group: Dimitri Bashkirov, Idil Biret, Cynthia Raim, Richard Goode, Walter Gieseking, Anton Kuerti, Stephen Kovacevich, Cédric Tiberghien and Hagai Yodan.
Tune in to Between the Keys this Friday afternoon at 3:00 PM, with the rebroadcast Saturday evening at 6:00 PM, exclusively on The Classical Network and WWFM.org.
