The ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys enters its eleventh year on the air this week, an anniversary that coincides with the 341st birthday of J.S. Bach.
Between the Keys’ creator, producer and host Jed Distler, who is The Classical Network’s Artist-in-Residence, will present several major length Bach works in piano performances that he especially loves. The program begins with Ruth Slenczynska’s Chromatic Fantasy and Fugue, followed by Alexandra Papastefanou and Piotr Anderszewski in selections from The Well-Tempered Clavier Book II. Next you’ll hear Jeremy Denk perform the Partita No. 3 in A Minor, and, lastly, Andrea Padova in the Preludes, Fugue and Allegro in E-flat Major.
Tune in to Between the Keys, this Friday at 3:00 PM, with the rebroadcast Saturday at 6:00 PM, exclusively on The Classical Network and WWFM.org.
