This week’s episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys offers its usual eclectic mix of piano pieces from many eras. Contemporary works include Eliza Garth playing David Froom’s Variations on an Early American Hymn Tune, Cole Anderson with works by Mónica Cardenes, and Katrine Gislinge in a Nocturne by Bent Sørensen. We’ll also hear former Between the Keys guest Norma Fisher in Schumann’s Papillons, Jeneba Kanneh-Mason playing William Grant Still, and the irrepressible Shura Cherkassky’s serving up Schumann/Liszt in grand style.
Tune in to Between the Keys, this Friday at 3:00 PM, with the rebroadcast Saturday at 6:00 PM, exclusively on The Classical Network and WWFM.org.
