This week's episode of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys features a plethora of piano preludes.
"Preludes can be anything, really." says longtime host and producer Jed Distler. "I've done shows featuring Preludes in the past, and they always seem to lend themselves to musically varied programming, as I hope will happen on this episode!"
Along with works by Carl Filtsch (an almost forgotten pupil of Chopin), Debussy, Hindemith, Turina, Busoni and Bowen, we'll compare different pianist's playing the Bach-Busoni Chorale Prelude "Rejoice, Beloved Christians."
