Hosted by The Classical Network's Artist-in-Residence Jed Distler, this week's edition of the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys features a wide range of piano music.
"As usual, when I don't have an overall theme or topic for the program, I simply mix and match selections," says Jed. "I start from one work, and then I see what that work suggests, and then I continue this way until I have a full program. I think you'll enjoy what I've come up with this week."
Selections include Bach with Yunchan Lim, Glenn Gould playing piano music by the teenage Richard Strauss, a rare Jacob Gimpel recording of Chopin's C-sharp Minor. Waltz, Allison Brewster Franzetti playing Weinberg, plus works by Amy Beach, Ligeti and Beethoven.
