Four Singers from Recordings Made Early in their Careers on The Lyric Stage

Mario del Monico, Mirella Freni, Luciano Pavarotti and Maria Callas sing arias recorded when they were very early in their careers on this episode Sunday (9/29 at 8 pm).

Mario del Monaco sings arias by Puccini, Giordano and Meyerbeer recorded in the late 1940's; Mirella Freni sings Mimi from a 1963 performance of La Boheme; Lucianno Pavarotti sings Edgardo in the final scene of Lucia di Lammemoor, a role he did often early in his career, and Maria Callas recorded Isolde when she was 26, included in her "first official recordings."

Mike Harrah is host of The Lyric Stage, which airs Sundays at 8 pm.
