Sounds Choral this Sunday (10/23) features the music of Robert Paterson and a conversation with the composer.

Host Deborah Simpkin King chats with composer Robert Paterson, who talks about what brings him inspiration and how a new work is created. The program features two of Paterson's works resulting from commissions in which King took part, "Look to the Sky," commissioned by the New York Choral Consortium, and Listen, commissioned by Ember Choral Arts, of which King serves as Artistic Director. Listen Sunday at 2 pm.

Deborah Simpkin King, Ph.D., Deborah Simpkin King, Ph.D. Deborah Simpkin King, Ph.D., is a conductor, program builder and new music advocate, whose career bridges artistry, innovation, and mentorship. A dynamic presence in the Manhattan choral scene, she serves as Chair of the New York Choral Consortium, and is a frequent conductor with Lincoln Center projects, most recently the choral director with Jeanine Tesori’s opera Blue. She serves the national and international music community through guest conducting, thought leadership, and extensive body of published work.
