Raritan River Music Festival Broadcast Concert Features Bergamot Quartet

The Bergamot Quartet presents this concert entitled "Laments & Dances: Music from the Folk Traditions" on this broadcast concert from the 34th annual Raritan River Music Festival Friday (6/16 at 8 pm).

The festival this year welcomed for the second year in a row the four young women who make up the Bergamot Quartet to perform a program of works inspired by folk music traditions, including a piece composed for them by Princeton University composer Dan Trueman. Festival founders and curators Laura Oltman and Michael Newman, who make up the Newman & Oltman Guitar Duo, will join them in a work by Arnold Black based on traditional Irish tunes passed down from the 18th-century harper Turlough O’Carolan.

Newman and Oltman will co-host this broadcast with David Osenberg.

David Osenberg is WWFM Partnership Manager, WWFM Music Director, Afternoon Host, and Host of award-winning Cadenza.
