Performances from National Sawdust on Monday Broadcast

Brooklyn-based National Sawdust returns to our broadcast line-up this Monday (1/15 at 8 pm) with a program of 20th century works and new commissions.

The call goes out this Monday evening for new and open ears as we present performances from one of the most vibrant and impactful music venues in New York City, the Brooklyn-based National Sawdust. The program includes Infinite Staircase, a commissioning project from last Fall with National Sawdust working with the Metropolis Ensemble. Pianist Han Chen will perform one of the seminal works for piano from the 20th century, the Hungarian composer Gyorgy Ligeti’s 18 Piano Etudes, plus 18 world premieres of works for solo piano commissioned by 18 young composers, each paired with one of Mr. Ligeti’s Etudes. You can hear the encore broadcast this Saturday afternoon at 1 pm.

David Osenberg is WWFM Partnership Manager, WWFM Music Director, Afternoon Host, and Host of award-winning Cadenza.
