The Merian Ensemble - made up of five artists who are all members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra - is dedicated to performing music by women composers. This week we’ll hear the concert they gave back on in February titled “Myth & Nature,” which featured music of Clarice Assad, Amy Beach, Ruth Gipps, Danielle Eva Schwob, Jennifer Higdon and Leilehua Lanzilotti. This performance also presents a world premiere of a Merian Ensemble commission by music of Soon He Newbold. The composer joins host David Osenberg and co-host Elizabeth Remy Johnson, the harpist in the Merian Ensemble, for this broadcast concert. You can enjoy an encore broadcast Saturday at 2 pm.
