NJ Symphony Showcases Works by Young Composers on Monday Broadcast

This program includes the works by participants in the New Jersey Symphony's Edward T. Cone Composition Institute. Listen Monday (9/10) at 8 pm.

This week's broadcast concert comes from our state orchestra the New Jersey Symphony - the special concert the Symphony performs every year in July along with the Edward T. Cone Composition Institute presenting new works for symphony orchestra by four especially chosen young composers. The Symphony is led by guest conductor Christopher Roundtree and will perform works by American composer Leigha Amick, New Zealander Jessie Leov, Philipino/Hawaiian Paul Cosme and Brazilian Santiago Beis. The concert also features a work by the director of the Cone Institute, noted American composer Steven Mackey, a piece portraying the rich and diverse life just inside and just outside the oceanfront of a Southern California Beach called Urban Ocean. Mackey joins David Osenberg as co-host for this broadest of new works for symphony orchestra.

David Osenberg is WWFM Partnership Manager, WWFM Music Director, Afternoon Host, and Host of award-winning Cadenza.
