This performance, recorded in Fall 2023 and released on the Analekta label, brings together the two versions presented by Felix Mendelssohn in the 19th century, first in 1829 and then in 1849, to jump start the Bach Revival. Scholar Malcolm Bruno has put together a new edition that takes a fascinating cross sectioning of these two and brings them into a single arrangement. Artistic Director and Conductor Christopher Jackson joins David Osenberg as co-host for this program.
** Please note that because of the length of this performance, the broadcast will begin at 7 pm. Friday's Exploring Music episode will air at 6 pm.
