Works by Two Iconic American Composers Highlighted on Monday Broadcast Concert by The Orchestra Now

This broadcast Monday (9/15) features works by George Walker and Joan Tower, as well as Mahler's Fifth Symphony.

The Orchestra Now (TON) performs George Walker’s Pulitzer Prize winning setting of Walt Whitman for soprano & Orchestra, Lilacs, and Joan Tower’s Flute Concerto, with soloists from Bard College. Music Director and longtime President of Bard Maestro Leon Botstein leads the orchestra, which is comprised of young musicians from across the globe’s great music conservatories and schools. The concert concludes with the Symphony No. 5 by Gustav Mahler.
