Our Christmas week programming begins with this annual Christmas offering from the Bach Choir of Bethlehem. This year’s program was an all-Bach affair with three complete Cantatas: the Advent Cantatas, BWV 62, Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland (Saviour of the Nations, Come!), and BWV 147, Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben (Heart and soul, life and deeds), which concludes with the chorus we know as Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring; and the Cantata for Christmas Day - first performed 300 years ago in 1725 - BWV 110, Unser Mund sei voll Lachens (May our Mouths Be Filled with Laughter). Artistic Director Dr. Christopher Jackson. leads the soloists and the Bach Choir and Bach Festival Orchestra, and he also joins David Osenberg as co-host of this broadcast.
