A Musical Celebration of a Century of Westminster Choir College - Monday Night at 8 PM

This broadcast Monday (9/7 at 8 pm) features the Anniverary Chapel Service held in May, performed by the choir college's ensembles and alumni.

The annual Chapel Choir of The Westminster Choir College of Rider University this year honored both the graduating class of 2026 and the 100^th Anniversary of Westminster Choir College. The school's choirs, along with Symphony in C, perform many works long associated with this august institution as well as works from new choral composers.

This performance marked the last appearance of Donald Nally leading the Westminster Choir and we’ll hear from Dean of the Westminster College of Media and Performing Arts at Rider University, Jason Vodicka, about the future of Westminster moving forward.

The Choir College was founded in 1926 by conductor and music educator John Finley Williamson, when he opened the Westminster Choir School in Dayton, Ohio. The school moved to Ithaca, New York, before settling in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1932. It became part of Rider University in 1991, and in 2020 was moved from its long-time home in Princeton to Rider's Lawrenceville campus. The Princeton property is now owned by the municipality of Princeton.

The procession traditionally passes through this arch, with an inscription dedicated by past WCC alumni: "Serve the Lord with Gladness; Come before his Presence through Singing."
