Fang Man's work sets the same Chinese poetry and poets that Mahler used in his Das Lied von der Erde, in which Mahler used German translations, in settings of the original Chinese. The concert opens with the ensemble performing some of their best known and most fun encores works from the past decades. DSE founder, artistic director and flutist Mimi Stillman joins David Osenberg as host in this broadcast.
