Bing Crosby only appeared on Broadway once, and there was no recording from that concert with his second family and a few friends in 1976, so on this week’s Dress Circle (9/29 7:00 p.m.) we’re turning to some of his film songs to fill the hour.
You’ll hear “Der Bingle” in song from across his film career beginning with the 1930s and films like “College Humor,” “The King of Jazz,” “The Big Broadcast,” and “Mississippi.”
We’re including two “Road songs”: “Put It There Pal” form “The Road to Utopia” and the title song from “The Road to Morocco,” both with Bob Hope.
Of course, there are songs from the score to Cole Porter’s “High Society” (four to be exact) and two from Irving Berlin’s score for “White Christmas” including “The Liverwurst Song,” one of Michael’s favorites.
The rest of the program includes songs from “Going My Way,” “Blue Skies,” and several others, so it’s sure to be another happy hour of listening this Sunday. Here’s hoping you’ll join us.
