In memory of Queen Elizabeth II, it’s a rebroadcast of a show recorded in 2009, presenting three works composed for the Royal Family: the Suite for the Birthday of Prince Charles by Sir Michael Tippett, the Naxos Quartet No. 8, for the Queen on her 80th birthday, by Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, and The Thistle and the Rose, commissioned by Charles for the 90th birthday of the Queen Mother, by Patrick Doyle. It’s a Royal Family album, this Sunday at 10 pm.
