This week on The Lyric Stage we have an hour of crossover songs from Broadway, the movies and pop - even one country song - performed by, Jessye Norman, Bryn Terfel, Mario del Monaco, Richard Tucker and others. Armed with the love of this kind of music and a set of arrangements, almost always special to the singers, opera singers of a certain stature record a crossover album. These performances are never less than interesting, and often, they are wonderful, if sometimes far removed from the original style of the songs.
