Early Prokofiev Opera on The Lyric Stage

The Lyric Stage presents one of Prokofiev's earliest operas, Maddalena, written when he was a student at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. The opera, about a love triangle in 15th-century Venice, wasn't produced until the 1980s because of the complexities of its singing roles.
