December 2nd 2023 marks what would have been Maria Callas’ 100th birthday. As a lifelong admirer of this extraordinary soprano’s artistry, The Classical Network's Artist-in-Residence Jed Distler presents a centenary celebration that features some of the great soprano's legendary performances, as well as excerpts from interviews.
"Callas revolutionized opera in the mid-20th century," says Jed. "She channeled her vocal virtuosity to artistic and dramatic ends, uncovering depths and emotions in Bel Canto masterworks that would have a profound impact on singers who followed in her footsteps."
