We’re happy to be back at the Los Angeles Opera for this week’s Sunday Opera (10/6 3:00 p.m.) and their production Puccini’s “Turandot.” Although a problematic opera, it has still been popular since its premier in 1926, two years after Puccini’s death.

We’re pleased to be getting operas from LA Opera again, and on this week’s Sunday Opera (9/29 3:00 p.m.), we’ve got a double bill of operas that received excellent reviews this past March: "Highway 1, USA" by William Grant Still and "The Dwarf" by Alexander von Zemlinsky.

Premiering to wildly mixed responses from audiences and critics alike, it's gone on to be considered by many to be a landmark musical work of the 20th century.
