Celebrating Our Musical Future presents a special broadcast this Monday (5/29 at 8 pm) as we feature the Westminster Choir and New York-based Bang on a Can All-Stars under the direction of Joe Miller in a performance of the Pulitzer Prize-winning work Anthracite Fields by Julia Wolfe.
The work brings to life aspects of the coal mining industry in Pennsylvania coal country and was performed last month at the historic Roebling Wire Works in Trenton, underscoring the ties between the coal mining communities depicted in the piece and industrial cities like Trenton. Dr. Miller co-hosts with David Osenberg.
