The Lost Chord: February 13 - Pole Vault

Dip into the archive for an hour of Polish discoveries.  Forbidden love leads to tragedy in the symphonic poem “Stanislaw and Anna Oswiecim” by Mieczyslaw Karlowicz.  Then it’s romance of different kind with the Violin Concerto No. 2 by Emil Mlynarski.  Mlynarski, better recognized as a conductor, was briefly dean at Philadelphia’s Curtis Institute of Music and later father-in-law of Arthur Rubinstein.  Polish up on your Polish music, this Sunday at 10 pm.
