Between the Keys October 10 - All Tippett

Join Jed Distler on Tuesday night at 10 for the ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Award winning program Between the Keys. The show's focus will be on Michael Tippett's epic five-movement Piano Sonata No. 4. Written in 1983 and 1984, the work runs the gamut from brilliantly virtuosic to achingly lyrical, from giddy momentum to dark introspection. The work will be heard in a recording by Steven Osborne. Also featured on this episode are keyboard works by the Elizabethan master John Bull, with pianist Alan Feinberg.
