In this second installment of a three-part series, Eugene Ormandy once again conducts the Philadelphia Orchestra in rarely-heard recordings of American music.  Featured works will include Samuel Barber’s “First Essay for Orchestra,” Vincent Persichetti’s Symphony No. 4, and John Vincent’s Symphony in D, “A Festival Piece in One Movement.”  Ormandy recommends a visit to the Barber (pictured left), then convinces with the Vincents, this Sunday at 10 pm.
