February is here already, so we’ll be looking at some of the shows that opened on Broadway this month on this week’s Dress Circle (2/2 7:00 p.m.). This monthly feature often offers us the greatest diversity in our playlist, and February does not disappoint. We’ll be covering 97 years of musical history from Kern, Bolton, and Wodehouse’s “Oh, Boy” to Stew’s “Passing Strange,” and along the way, we’ll hear from some favorites like Cole Porter’s “Silk Stockings,” Cliff Jones’ “Rockabye Hamlet,” the original cast of “Wonderful Town” by Bernstein, Comden, and Green, “They’re Playing Our Song” by Hamlish and Bayer-Sager, the 2006 revival of Adler and Ross’ “The Pajama Game,” and the 1999 revival of “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown.”
Some of the other shows include “A Little Night Music,” the revival of “The Most Happy Fella,” and one of the big winners for the month, “Grease.” (…and for a treat, we’ll include a song from the original Swedish cast of that as well.) It’s another safe and happy hour of music that’s as wonderfully diverse as our musical family.
