On a Positive Note: 'Eastman Connects' Links Students, Faculty

As students from the Eastman School of Music spent the last part of this school year spread across the country, the school sought to find a way to keep them connected musically and otherwise. The result was Eastman Connects, which encourages students and faculty to post videos and links to performances. It includes a virtual performance of “Make Our Garden Grow” from Leonard Bernstein’s Candide recorded by members of the Eastman Opera Theatre, the Eastman Harmonie wind ensemble performing an arrangement of Ode to Joy, and a variety of student in-home performances. Steven Daigle, artistic director, Eastman Opera Theatre and Mark Watters, head of Eastman’s Beal Institute for Film Music and Contemporary Media, discuss the project on Friday's On a Positive Note.

Rachel Katz is the host of A Tempo which airs Saturdays at 7 pm.
