Gavin Black Harpsichord Recital, Princeton

Gavin Black Harpsichord Recital, Princeton
Gavin Black will play a recital of works by Johan Jacob Froberger (1616-1667), Dietrich Buxtehude (c.1637-1707), Johann Caspar Ferdinand Fischer (1656-1746), and Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750) on a double-manual harpsichord in the German style by Keith Hill (1978).
The program will include Bach's Prelude, Fugue, and Allegro in E-flat Major BWV 998 and Fischer's suite "Urania", along with suites, variation sets, and contrapuntal works of Froberger and Buxtehude.
The concert, which will last about two hours, is free, with general admission seating, and no tickets or reservations required.
The venue, Christ Congregation, is at the corner of Walnut Lane and Houghton Road in Princeton, New Jersey. The sanctuary, which seats about one hundred, has acoustics that are both clear and resonant - very suitable for harpsichord sound.
Parking will be available in the lot behind the church - entered from Houghton Road, and on nearby streets.
