Internationally acclaimed virtuoso pianist Sophia Agranovich will perform a solo recital, sponsored by the Watchung Arts Center, on Saturday, June 7, at 8:00 PM.

The program opens with Schumann’s storm-swept Sonata No. 2 in G minor, followed by Chopin’s Ballade No. 4 in F minor—a masterpiece of poetic storytelling and dramatic depth. Schumann’s “Widmung,” reimagined by Liszt, soars with romantic fervor. The evening reaches its climax with Liszt’s Sonata in B minor—a monumental journey of passion, turmoil, and transcendence.

Sophia Agranovich, a multi-award-winning pianist, recording artist, and educator, is celebrated internationally as a "bold, daring pianist in the tradition of the Golden Age Romantics" and praised as "a tigress of the keyboard." Her performances are hailed for their "uncommon beauty" and "superior musicianship." As a Steinway Artist, she has graced prestigious venues worldwide, from Lincoln Center and Carnegie Hall to Théâtre Na Loba and Ehrbar Saal. Her discography of 11 albums consistently achieves critical acclaim and high chart positions. Ms. Agranovich has received numerous accolades, including First Place honors and multiple Gold and Silver Medals. An esteemed pedagogue, she has earned various teaching awards and is listed in "Who's Who in America" and "Who's Who in the World." She serves as a voting member of NARAS, a GrammyU Mentor, and the Program Chair of the Music Educators Association of New Jersey. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Juilliard School, where she also taught as a teaching fellow, and continued her Doctoral studies at Columbia University.
