A Psalm for Thanksgiving on Sounds Choral

Sounds Choral Sunday (11/23 at 2 pm) features choral settings of Psalm 133.

Host Steven Sametz shares various choral settings of Psalm 133, including works by Leonard Bernstein and William Byrd.

The program will be rebroadcast Tuesday (11/25) at 3 pm.

Sounds Choral is the recipient of the 2025 ASCAP Deems Taylor/Virgil Thomson Broadcast/Media Award in concert music.

Steven Sametz

Composer and conductor Steven Sametz serves as the Artistic Director of the professional chamber choir The Princeton Singers and is Director of Choral Activities at Lehigh University. He has appeared as guest conductor with the New York Chamber Symphony, the Taipei Philharmonic Foundation, the Berkshire Music Festival and the Netherlands Radio Choir appearing in such venues as Avery Fisher Hall, the Schubertsaal at the Vienna State Opera House, St. Petersburg Philharmonic Hall (Russia), Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall (Taipei) and Berlin Philharmonic Hall.
