The Dress Circle: Words, Words, Words

Last week’s program focused on the lyrics only of Stephen Sondheim, but on this week’s Dress Circle (9/25 7:00 p.m.), we’re going to be featuring songs about “Words, Words, Words” in general.

“Two Little Words” would be just fine “When Words Fail” or when one asks, “Where Are the Words?” or “How Do You Find the Words?” Just say “The Words,” some “Simple Words” will do nicely because “Only Words” will do when one finds that “Music Is Better than Words” because it’s often totally “Louder Than Words.”

It’s just time at some point to “Fill in the Words” to tell someone what one thinks, but that other person just might be “Too Beautiful for Words,” at which point, one is absolutely stuck!

Our songs about “words” come from shows like “Bajour,” “Candide,” “The Witches of Eastwick,” “Steel Pier,” “Shrek,” “The Young Puccini,” “Ernest in Love,” “Enter Laughing,” and “The Color Purple” just to name a few.

As Hans Christian Anderson said, “When words fail, music speaks,” but we think these “words” are doing just fine! Please join us this week for an hour of “words” and music!
