The Dress Circle: Pop Goes Rodgers and Hart

Several of our recent programs included some wonderful songs by Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart, and it reminded us exactly how much we loved their music, so on this week’s Dress Circle (6/11 7:00 p.m.), we’ve selected more music by this incredible pair who wrote 28 shows together.

However, with only one or two exceptions, we won’t be hearing from the performers who were associated with the songs we’ve chosen. Instead, we’re looking to popular performers of the day, hence the show’s title, “Pop Goes Rodgers & Hart.”

Our playlist includes fifteen songs from shows and films such as “The Boys from Syracuse,” “Babes in Arms,” “I Married an Angel,” “I’d Rather Be Right,” “Hollywood Party,” “Spring Is Here,” and “Love Me Tonight.”

As to our performers, you’ll hear from the likes of Lena Horne, Mel Torme, Billie Holiday, Nat King Cole, Lena Horne, Perry Como, Ella Fitzgerald, and more.

With excellent singers and songs such as “This Can’t Be Love,” “Where or When?”, “Blue Moon,” and “With a Song in My Heart,” we’re offering another enjoyable hour of music.
