We’ve been hearing a quite a few “ifs” flying around recently, so we thought we’d look at the musicals for “if” songs, and this week’s Dress Circle (12/10 7:00 p.m.) features fourteen songs that begin with “What if…”
We had quite a bit of fun digging through the collection for these, and we found so many, that we’ll definitely revisit this topic next year.
This program, however, is once again a mixture of some very familiar musicals and some that will surely be new to you.
Our “If I” songs include those about singing, ruling the world, loving, believing, and ringing.
The familiar musicals this time include: “Li’l Abner,” “Funny Lady,” “Guys and Dolls,” and “Dear Evan Hansen.”
Those “other” shows include: “All American,” “The Baker’s Wife,” “Black and Blue,” “The Crooked Mile,” and “Triumph of Love.”
